ABOUT US

The “Ex Alto” project is being developed within the framework of the UGCC’s pastoral and educational program “Healing the Wounds of War.” Through podcasts and videos, we talk about the consequences of a full-scale invasion — fear, loss, fatigue, loneliness, despair — and seek answers born of faith, prayer, and the experience of the Church.

Our aspiration is to support people in their search for inner healing, hope, and peace, drawing on the testimonies of those who are going through similar trials. Ex Alto consciously builds its ministry in a military context and tries to hear the Ukrainian audience: its inquiries, pain, questions, and search for meaning.

VISION

This is a space for young people aged 18–35, whose experiences today are marked by the challenges of war and the rapid growth of social media. Therefore, we speak the language that young people communicate with every day and where they seek inspiration or solace: YouTube, Instagram, short videos, live faces and honest stories.

The name “Ex Alto” — “From Above” — conveys our intentions and aspirations. We want to help young people raise their gaze above their own chaos, fatigue, and uncertainty — to where Christ, our meaning and hope, is. There will be no sermons or academic lectures here. Instead, there will be frank dialogues, personal experiences, living testimonies, and voices of those who are also seeking God in different life circumstances.

MISSION

To create a Ukrainian-language media space for youth evangelization, where two wings of the human spirit — reason and faith — will be combined. We strive to discover the depths of theological and intellectual understanding of faith, as well as to foster spiritual support, inspiration, and experience of people who are in search of truth. High-quality content with modern sections, opening new horizons of faith, supporting values, and enriching through stories — our way of bringing Christ closer to everyone.

spiritual context

At the first meeting, we reflected on a passage from the Gospel of Luke—Zechariah's song over John the Baptist at the moment of his birth: "Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who has looked with favor and redeemed his people..." (Luke 1:68).

At the end of this hymn we read: “…through the great mercy of our God, with whom the Dayspring from on high has visited us, to shine on those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace” (Lk 1:78–79).

This “East from Above,” or in another translation, “Light from Above,” is none other than Jesus Christ. His mission is to direct our steps on the path of peace. In the community of laypeople, clergy, and consecrated persons, we seek that “Ex Alto” will become a tool for spreading this “Light from Above” in the digital space.
